11 Best Fragrances by Kilian Fragrances

Kilian is the designer of the fragrance, which has become very popular in the last decade. 'Niche' perfumes, are very much like a luxury brand, and Kilian is definitely that.

However, while there are many of these upscale designers, who produce fragrances that smell bad, it is Kilian who actually have some gems under their belts.

In this post, I want to highlight 11 such perfumes, for men and women; which can be considered the best for this brand. It's not quite, perfect, but there should be something of value to anyone looking to try Kilian's fragrances.

Favorite Fragrances by Kilian for Men and Women

A wonderful release

Angel's Assignment by Kilian– This unisex perfume was released in 2020 and is one of my favorite fragrances to wear, as of late.

Angel's Share starts sweetly and boozy with cognac, tonka bean, and a strong oak base note. Cognac comes out like apple brandy, it has the same smell and the same name under the list.

Add light cinnamon, praline, and vanilla to give it more sweetness and warmth. Then, the dry down is a very sweet scent that has all the sweet/sweet notes just underneath.

Not too heavy of a fragrance, with good projection, and more than 10 hours of wear. I really enjoyed wearing these and will be getting a full bottle for my personal collection. Angels' Share Review

Narcotics Floral Vanilla

Woman in Gold– For me, the Narcotics line from Kilian is the most successful, especially for ladies. Woman in Gold is one of the best and gives you a great blend of floral notes, citrus, and vanilla.

Feminine and Gold opens with fresh and bright aldehydes combined with lovely bergamot citrus and geranium. Below that, the rose note and tonka bean/vanilla combo will be more prevalent in the drydown.

The rose is combined with light freesia, both of which will be classic floral scents, with patchouli and woody undertones. The vanilla will take over the bean and the tonka and the woods and flowers will be what's left.

It's slightly sweet, the aldehydes are big on top and the citrus, and just enough vanilla to tie it all together. Woman in Gold Review

Sweet and Boozy Gourmand

Kilian Black Phantom- Memento Mori Perfume Refillable Spray 1.7 fl. oz– Black Phantom is a sweet gourmand, which really shines when chilled. You get a slightly spiced rum, chocolatecaramel, and coffee. Yes, it will be hot and humid.

It's like a sweet coffee drink, with a bit of rum thrown in to liven up the spirit. Longevity is good and sillage is not too heavy. However, I would keep this one out of the heat, saving it for cooler days. Black Phantom is unisex, leaning towards masculine.

A warm fruity tobacco smoke

Smoking Hot– This also starts with notes of apple and cinnamon, like Angel's Share. The two are not the same, however beyond that share they are the same.

Here, you get an open space with a big apple note, spice, and a smoky undertone. Smoke doesn't win me over. Actually, the tobacco note itself is more noticeable in the back half of the wear.

Opening action, lots of smoke. A very nice hookah with a subtlety/innovation, to keep it from getting out of control.

Tobacco and vanilla will take over the tail, supported by fruity notes. However, you get freshness from sage and moss notes.

Good performance and something different that makes it like a unisex cigarette scent.

Flowers and some Fruitiness

By Kilian – Good Girl Gone Bad Eau de Parfum – Travel Spray– The first entry for ladies, in the list, is completely floral. Osmanthus and rose, lead the pack, before it goes into a bouquet with a sweet touch of amber.

The fruit here comes from an apricot note, with a very light apple. With white floral notes, it has a clean soapy/shampoo feel to it.

The name here, doesn't fit at all, but the scent itself is really nice. It's more of a 'good girl' and I'm not sure when that 'bad' side ever kicked in. So, if that's what you're expecting, it's not going to happen.

Tuberose and orange blossom have their moments, while the strongest floral notes towards the end will be jasmine. The apricot note lingers for a long time. You get a sweet, easy to wear floral, which is really suitable for young women too. Good Girl Gone Bad Review

Best To Heaven

Straight to Heaven Extreme by Kilian/1.6 oz.– Yes, the original is one of the most popular Kilian fragrances. However, let's kick things up a notch, with Straight to Heaven Extreme being even better than its predecessor.

Like, Black Phantom above, Straight to Heaven heavily uses rum. It's a really strong start.

However, this one doesn't go into full fun mode, and is a lot boozier overall. There is still sweetness, with dried fruit and vanilla, but it has an earthy base with a nice note of patchouli.

It lives up to the extreme title, as the projection and longevity, is amazing. Update: This is terminated. The original is still available, but you'll have to buy the Extreme on the secondary market, if you want it.

Hot, Spicy, and Sweet

Alcoholic Refill by Kilian/1.7 oz.– Drunkenness is a simple, but wonderful mixture, mainly cardamom and coffee. Below that, there are other spices, cinnamon and nutmeg. This one is so nice and warm and a fragrance that never gets out of hand.

It has a very attractive aroma, with medium silage, overall. There is not much depth to this, just a great smell, for those who want a mix of sweet and blue.

They have a few of these simple scents that are mid type. This is a really impressive perfume.

Best Winter Fragrance

Kilian Back to the Black Walk Set– This is probably the most famous of the Kilian fragrances, it happens again, one of the best. Honey together tobaccoare the main players here, and the cherry on top.

It's unique, with a dark sweetness, about it. Back to Black is mostly a fruity tobacco fragrance, with notes like saffron and almond, breaking through at times during wear. Very good performance, not too much, but all day wear.

A different take on Boozy

Kilian Apple Brandy 17 ml / 0.57 fl– Apple Brandy is as boozy as you'd expect it to be. Like a box of wet liquor, with the smell of apples high, with vanilla sweetness at its heart. A nice, warm cologne for those cold winter days and nights.

The opening has a nice juice, then a boozy sweetness, and finally a woody alcohol. Very nice, maybe not for everyone, but nice nonetheless.

Update: This one also seems to be discontinued. They have it Apple Brandy on the Rockseven now. It's not quite the same, it's not right in my mind, but it might be something you like.

Sweet Floral Perfume

By Kilian – Spraying That Loves To Travel With Reinstallation– Love is a sugary perfume of sweet marshmallow, caramel and vanilla blend, sitting on top of floral notes like irisorange blossoms, honeysuckleand a roll.

The orange blossom / neroli combination, plays well without the candy-like top notes. Right off the bat, orange blossoms and marshmallow are the main notes, on my nose. Her rose and irises are light and give a slightly powdery scent to the warm gourmand sweetness.

As it dries down, the jasmine begins to make itself more prominent, in the floral arrangement. Vanilla, marshmallow, and musk when the caramel fades and the floral notes are just plain rather than distinct.

This is a very elegant perfume, perfect for everyday wear, but can have a bolder character when layered. Best worn in autumn to early spring, as it can be quite thick in the summer. Read my full review

Fruit and Rose

By Kilian – Relationship Dangereuses, Eau de Parfum Perfume 50 ml– Liaisons Dangereuses is mostly a women's fragrance, but a man can pull it off. You get a lot of peach and plum (not too much), everywhere, and tart black currant in the opening.

Beyond that, a light rose, and a touch of perfume. It's a 'jammy' rose, well, the fruits create a jam like aroma around that beautiful rose.

It's mostly about the fruit notes here, but the drydown will be more woody/floral, than it was. Clean and juicy, with a creamy peach note. It's just that simple. It's not a great fragrance, it's a light and fresh scent compared to something like Love Don't Be Afraid. My full review
