8 Best Parfums de Marly Men's Fragrances

Well, I've spent over a month with my batch of Parfums de Marly samples, and now I feel confident putting together a list of the 'best' perfumes of the range. I haven't been able to do all the cologne reviews, but I will update the site with them, soon. Here is my working list of smell analysis.

In this post, I have selected what I feel are the best perfumes from Parfums de Marly. I think each of them brings something unique to the table and one will suit one's style.

Marly Fragrances Favorite Parfums for Men

Top Overall PdM Fragrance

Parfums Marly Herod Men's Edp Spray, 4.2 Ounce– A warm, mature, and charming cologne. Herod struck me as the sweetest scent of some of my favorite fragrances on the market.

Sweet with a vanilla note and then dark and spicy with a cinnamon/pepper combo. A long-lasting fragrance, the peppery scent of cinnamon is complemented by a subtle hint of incense.

Even though it's spicy, it's a naturally smooth scent. Tobacco, vanilla, and white resin kept Herod cool and fragrant. I love it as a fall and winter outfit, but it lasts all day, with a medium sillage that isn't overwhelming. Read my full Herod Review

Marly's best scent

Parfums de Marly Parfums de Marly Layton by perfums de marly for men – 4.2 Ounce edp spray, 4.2 OunceI really enjoyed the apple note from Layton. It's more of a real apple scent than some of the sour candy apple notes found in other colognes.

It smells absolutely delicious and the opening act is delightful to smell, on the skin. Some may not like that level of cuteness, but I think it works well, here. I wore this dress yesterday, in leather.

This fragrance also contains vanillasandalwood, and a hint of perfume to create some energy within the scent. A very nice fragrance that can be worn all year round and in different situations or seasons. My review of Layton

One of Summer

Sedley– This is the newest release in the range and I think the top release from the brand in the last few years.

Sedley is a more sophisticated fragrance than the others in the range and goes in a different direction. Its two points are the water and solar deal, just to give you an idea.

But, it's joined by clean citrus, mint, calming lavender, and sandalwood. It has a fresh citrus effervescence about it, the mint note is not overwhelming but adds that extra zing.

Add to that, geranium and cedar in the base and you get a super clean/fresh wear for spring and summer.

Now, working on this one, it's not as good as the others. Also, it smells great. You may find it stretches to 6-7 hours on the skin, however.

It has a nice perfume phase, then its woody phase, and a citrus/musk finish.

A better mix

Pegasus Exclusive Exclusif is a better version of the original Pegasus exemption from PdM. I've never really gotten into it, despite its popularity. However, I think the Pegasus Exclusif is an improvement over that build.

For me, it's a bit of a whole almond and vanilla scent in the opening. Yes, they are still there but there is a mix of other articles. Bright citrus, heliotrope, and pink pepper spice.

This sounds like a soothing fragrance, it's still lingering and functional enough, it's not a perfume that will bore you.

Cardamom, lavender, and geranium keep the middle and back half of this movement, before we get amber and woods.

Still not my favorite, but I liked the other one better, and it deserves a spot on the list. Special review

It's Hot and Dark

Carlisle by Parfums de Marly- This one is similar to Oajan, listed below, but I think Carlisle has the edge in terms of its scent.

It opens with both green apple and vanilla, but also saffron and sandalwood. This gives it a warm and sweet appearance, with an attractive dark, baked goods smell. Saffron creates a kind of smooth skin in Carlisle.

Finally, it's a balanced blend of sweet and fresh flavors. Under the apple. Top with vanilla, tonka bean, nutmeg, and patchouli. Working with Carlisle is great. Not only did I get a strong sillage, but it also lasted 12 to 13 hours during testing.

This Parfums de Marly fragrance is so sweet and not too heavy that it can't fit into spring. However, it is better in the cold part of the year. Carlisle Full review

A sweet and rich fragrance

Parfums de Marly Oajan Edp Spray, 4.2 Ounce-Oajan is a rich and dark type of fragrance. Immediately, one's nose is hit by a combination of tonka bean, cinnamon, and benzoin.

Smooth and sweet with a hint of spice and a profile that reminds me a bit 1 Million Private. Obviously, the more Paco Rabanne really separates the two, in the middle act.

Benzoin, very good point here. It is not often used in perfumes, but it is used effectively by some of the best design companies.

It starts hard, but calm, and lasts all day. Oajan is a cold weather fragrance. I really enjoy the creamy vanilla, tonka bean, and spice added by the cinnamon. Plus, a sweet and thick honey note. It's a great combination of points. Read my full review

Unique and Rare

Parfums de Marly Godolphin Men's Edp Spray, 4.2 Ounce– Godolphin is a great fragrance. Anyway, this is what I'm wearing right now, as I type this post. It opens with a mix of herbal notes and a hint of fruit.

Mostly I get the feeling of saffron piercing through. When combined, with other ingredients, it lends a slight metallic smell to the composition. In many ways, this reminds me of Godolphin Ombre Skin by Tom Ford. The floral notes are different, but saffron and leather, are complementary.

However, the main point that will play is the smooth and beautiful skin that blends with the wood base. It is invigorating and has a layer of floral notes that allow the fragrance to have weight and balance.

It has a rose note that is actually very sweet, within the setting of this fragrance. The sillage is stronger, but will last longer. Godolpin review

Dark Gourmand Select

Parfums de Marly Habdan Men Edp Spray, 4.2 Ounce– Habdan has notes of apple and caramel, but don't let yourself think that this is a feminine scent.

Those are also combined with notes of saffron, frankincense, and amber to create a smoky oriental fragrance. The sweetness is perfectly combined with the dark elements of smoke, found in this cologne. It's beautiful and different.

It has similar properties Black Man by Bvlgari. A little spicy, no booziness in the rum note. They come close, but Habedan takes it in a different direction.

It is a sweet and delicious gourmand cologne while also having elements of incense and resin. It's hot, it's complicated, and it's very exciting. Probably not the most attractive in the world. but for a certain section of guys, this will be their absolute favourite. Full review of Habdan
