8 of the best-smelling Gucci Colognes for men

Apart from other fashion products Gucci old, has a very popular line of fragrances for men and women. Its colognes offer a blend of unique oils that are both masculine and versatile to suit the lifestyle of consumers.

While there are many options for a man to choose from within the Gucci line of colognes, I wanted to focus on what I feel are the best home fragrances from this Italian design house.

So far, I've whittled things down to eight scents for him, the biggest ever at Gucci.

This list is not balanced, as it is a personal choice of the best smelling fragrance, however, I consider this to be a plant cream. I've updated this list for 2024, adding to the original post from 2013, and changing the selection a bit.

Favorite Men's Perfume by Gucci

Guilty Good Scent (Tie) and Top Summer Pick

1. Gucci Guilty Black Pour Homme Fragrance Collection 3.0-oz. Eau de toilette-One of the many flanker scents from the Guilty namesake, Guilty Black is my favorite (tossing this and Impotent).

Note: They gave it another name, Guilty Essence.

Back in 2014-2015, I would wear this all the time, as I found it very soothing and refreshing on my skin.

Guilty Black Pour Homme does not have a distinctive open citrus, like the main one changes in liabilitybut share common sense. It pairs very well with the familiar scent of coriander and lavender in contrast.

It has a floral heart and a woody base. Orange blossom and roll, are very present after the first opening. I get a ton of orange blossom on my skin, nice lavender, and green ingredients.

Guilty Black always had a lot of staying power for me and the ability to project without overdoing it all. It's still a very attractive scent and one that surpasses others using this name. Black Review guilty

The Best Everyday Gucci Scented Dress

2. Gucci Guilty Intense Eau De Toilette Spray for Men, 3 Ounce-Guilty Intense is a fresh and clean fragrance, which offers a unique fragrance for guys who want a good fragrance. Mandarin, pink pepper, lilac, amber, and other ingredients in the notes combine well to produce a memorable experience.

Note: This is now discontinued.

This one is better than the original Guilty, in my opinion. It doesn't have much of a lemon note from the start, but instead goes heavy on lavender and amber. Again, I go back and forth between this and Black, but Intense gives me a nice amber finish with its citrus beginnings.

Warm and bright with just hints of spice from light coriander and patchouli piercing the scent. It's a soothing scent, the dry down adds floral notes to the mix (orange blossom and roll) which helps to further develop the citrus feel.

The sillage is on the high end of moderate and I can get 7-8 hours of solid wear without Guilty Intense. One of its strengths, is that this fragrance can be worn all year round and can go from the office to the night without being taken out. It's a strong all around smell. Deep Guilt Review

The Best Winter Perfume for Men

3. Gucci Men's Eau de Toilette Spray, 3 Ounces– This fragrance brings a woody fragrance, very masculine and sensual. Bergamot, Cyprus and violet notes open the trailing scent tobacco leaves and jasmine before the final note that includes amber lingers.

A fragrance that would be a welcome addition to any men's cologne collection. Tobacco is the main ingredient here, not a heavy scent, but light and confident.

Gucci for Men is very dry and green, cypress and violet, the flanker is a note of tobacco and you have many other external ingredients that support the structure.

From what I understand, this one may have been redesigned, so I can't speak to its current performance. The older bottles were not beasts in terms of sillage (very light to moderate), but they did last a long time.

High flexibility selection

4. Gucci Pour Homme By Gucci For Men. Eau De Toilette Spray 3.3 Oz.– This Gucci fragrance is clean and never overpowering. There is a hint of spice in it but people will wonder what exactly you are wearing.

Pour Homme II opens with that familiar citrus note, bergamot, but one quickly realizes that you will get a unique experience with notes of cinnamon, violet leaf, black tea and pimento.

Sometimes it's smooth, sometimes it's spicy, it's floral, and then it feels green and rooty. The Gucci II is a very sophisticated piece of clothing, it's not overpowering, but it's never going to overwhelm a room. You'll find it up your nose all day long and get that feeling of, “Damn, I smell good.”

You should find this Gucci fragrance online, as I haven't seen it in a physical store, for a long time. There are still a lot of bottles, though, and it's a very nice fragrance.

The most unique cologne and long lasting Gucci

5. Gucci Guilty Absolute Eau de Parfum Spray for Men, 3 Ounces– The flankers to Guilty that have been coming out recently, are very different from the fragrance.

Guilty Absolute is definitely a brand new experience, but what I think is the best of the new flankers.

Now, this is really strong, masculine, and intense. So, it's not a cologne that will work for everyone. It opens with beautiful skin and an earthy patchouli note, packing a punch from the start.

However, as it dries down it really dries down with notes of cypress and golden woods, taking up more of the composition.

The finish is a combination of leather and cypress note, with a strong sillage, and a wearing time of two hours. Guilty Absolute, it won't be the most appealing to everyone.

In fact, some guys will find it difficult at times. However, it gives something different and a niche, that some men will think about it. Read my Absolute Guilty Review

An interesting Guilty Flanker

6. Gucci Guilty Love Edition by Gucci Eau De Toilette Spray 3 oz Men– So, I tried this and the new EDP version of Guilty, and I really prefer this one. I really like the opening action of the EDP, but it really dries down to a subtle version of the original with a rose on top.

Meanwhile, the Love Edition opens with a sweet blend of kumquat and orange, making this a great zesty choice for spring and summer.

It actually reminds me of having a similar style Chanel Allure Blancand pink pepper, vetiver, and other dry ingredients. The difference is, Chanel has a vanilla finish with lemon, while Guilty Love Edition is soapier and floral.

I really dig the combination of ginger and pink pepper. Lavender is beautiful and, this can be mixed with Guilty Black, but it retains its own style. The performance isn't amazing, but I really like this one. Review of Guilty Love Edition

Substitution of deep guilt

7. Guilty Pour Homme Parfum by Gucci (Macy's)– This is the new 2022 release, it has a lot in common with Guilty Intense, but it's a purer and better version. I bought a full bottle when it was released and I really enjoy this Gucci perfume.

For me, it's already one of the best Guilty colognes in the series. It opens with lemon peel-like zest, nutmeg, and juniper notes. It's less of a pure citrus game compared to others in this range, but it has a nice aromatic quality to it.

Guilty Pour Homme Parfum is the balance of all the signature Guilty aromas; from flowers to citrus to fresh, but also a very serious effect. 7-8 hours of work, but pretty solid all around. Read my full review (or the video below).

The eighth elixir

You owe Elixir– Personally, I think Elixir Pour Homme is more. That said, it's mostly a nice cologne, which some people like more than I do.

Pimento and nutmeg lead to the spicy stuff, but the vanilla and iris notes really shine in this one. It has a bit of a kick, but the faintness of the benzoin note prevents it from going too far in that direction.

Floral, powdery, sweet, warm and amber. That's what you get in Gucci Guilty Elixir.

I really like the opening act, but it's not good for me after that. I will say that working here is good. So, even though this one is expensive, it does a solid job of sticking.
