Hermes is a luxury brand steeped in fashion history. While it has great fragrances for men, that doesn't seem to be the company's main focus, but when they do release a fragrance…they do it very well.

Most of the fragrances that have been released, tend to be unisex, and can be targeted more towards one point as opposed to mass market fragrances. I have selected what I feel are the ten best Hermès fragrances for men, at the moment.

Favorite Hermès Perfumes for Him

Big Citrus and Vetiver

Terre d'Hermes Eau Intense Vetiver– For me, this is much better than the first. I don't like the bitter orange opening in that one, for a long time. Now, it doesn't bother me so much, this is just passing by.

Meanwhile, Eau Intense starts with a light and bright blend of lemon and grapefruit.

Obviously, it's the same as Terre d'Hermes, just with a different and new combination. Yes, it's a serious version, but it's really not as loud or heavy as the original. Perhaps the depth refers to the vetiver note only, stronger and more prevalent.

The vetiver comes on strong, after the opening and is joined by a central Sichuan pepper note. A mature and refined aroma, probably better at 30+ years of age, in most cases. Eau Intense Vetiver Review

Citron Cool

Terre d'Hermes Eau Givree– Another series that I really like. Eau Givree brings a zesty true bittersweet juniper note and woody base. There may still be some original orange in there.

This one is very nice and clean. It's not overpowering, but it's a pleasant fragrance to wear. I really wanted to try this one, after being less than wowed by the other Terre d'Hermes flankers.

There is a mineral note here, but once I tried Eau Givree outside, it didn't seem strong. Weaker than the one inside AdG Perfume. I don't know, maybe I need more time with it to notice it.

All of this comes very cold, slightly spiced, with a touch of bitterness. I get a lot of juniper that comes after the first installments of citron.

The most famous of Hermès

Hermès Men's Terre d'Hermès Eau de Toilette Spray, 3.3 fl. oz.– So, I'm putting this on the list based solely on the number of people who swear by this scent.

Me personally, it's a small opinion with Terre d'Hermes, as I don't care for it. However, I am not partial to it now.

Citrus, trees, and soil. I like the idea, I don't like the orange note, especially with the undertones of patchouli and woody notes.

I love Vetiver here, that's why Eau Intense Vetiver really impressed me.

Again, however, many people think this is one of the best fragrances of the last 25 years…I'm not one of them. Read my full review.

New Advanced Edition

H24 by HermesThe H24 seems to be getting mixed reviews, but in terms of sales it has been very popular since its release in 2021. Personally, I loved wearing it and thought it brought something different to the table, compared to the usual range of men's colognes.

H24 opens with a lot of sage. The general composition of this cologne is simple, but it is fresh and interesting.

The sage is combined with a metallic note, which gives it one of those special effects. It smells less like mineral oil and actually smells like real metal. It's warm, with a sweet narcissus flower, and a rosewood base that rounds things out.

They released the EDP version of this. Update: Also, Herbes Vives, which is no better either. Different weights of articles, but add moss as an ingredient. Between the two, I still prefer the original EDT.

The performance is good. The H24 is flexible and very easy to like. I'm not sure why some people seem to dislike this. It's not the most amazing, but it's all around decent. H24 Review

Fresh and soapy

The garden of Mr– Not the best player, but still decent. However, Le Jardin de Monsieur Li is a great fragrance for men or women.

This range of perfumes is mostly unisex, but most of them are women's perfumes. This is a true unisex fragrance.

This Hermes perfume starts with a bright blend of citrusy kumquat, which is refreshing and watery. The mint note comes through a bit to give it that little bit of creepiness, with grassy undertones, that bring back memories of being in a little garden by the pool.

Jasmine becomes the main note, during the dry season. It gives this soap another quality, as it combines with other ingredients.

However, it retains grassy, watery, and grassy notes enough to prevent it from being a 'girly' scent. My full review

Hot, Sweet/Spicy, Bomby

Amber NarguileAnother unisex option, but one that flies under the radar, and is truly amazing. This one is dark, sweet, spicy, and intoxicating. It's really perfect for the coldest days of the year.

Amber and honey are two of the main notes, obviously, giving Ambre Narguile a thick warmth and richness. Then, it brings dry fruits, tobaccorum, spices, and a hint of smoke.

It is very close Oajan by Parfums de Marly. Although, this is a sweeter scent than that, but still has a spicy kick.

This is a release from the Hermessence collection and it works well and is fun for anyone to enjoy.

Green, Fresh, Summer scent

Garden in the Mediterranean– Another great entry from the Un Jardin series. This is herbal, fresh, green, with a nice zesty finish.

Mediterranee starts with the usual top notes of citrus, and a mix of floral notes. Then, the real magic begins with the introduction of fig, juniper, and cypress.

The juniper gives it a gin-like fizziness, and the wonderful fig that comes through, along with the greens wood of cypress.

This is actually unisex and can be worn by many men. On the Nileis another possible choice, but has a more feminine scent.

Longevity is good, but the scent is great. I really like the addition of the fig note, in this composition, it takes a long time and dries down and stays perfectly.

A Classic Masculine Scent

Empowerment by Hermes for Men. Eau De Toilette Spray 3.3 Oz.– A classic 1970s fragrance. Equipage is a very sweet and attractive fragrance unlike anything else released these days.

It is masculine, but not overpowering, and has smooth notes such as: rosewood, oak moss, and pine needles.

It has a nice woody, smoky, and autumn outdoor scent. Equipage is refined and well integrated, with a nice spice from the nutmeg, and a nice distinct note of carnation on top.

Woody, Herbal, Outdoorsy

Hermes Rocabar Eau de Toilette Spray for Men, 3.3 ounces– Rocabar has a benzoin note that I enjoy and it reminds me of Body Kouros by YSLhowever, the Hermes fragrance takes it in a completely different direction.

Rocabar is a very fresh blend of woods and spices but with floral and sweet notes provided by vanilla and carnation.

It's not as masculine as Equipage or as resinous as Bel Ami. This is a good middle ground, however, it is still very much outside.

Pine and cypress are prominent in the base of the fragrance, but everything remains clean and classy.

Leather, aromatic wood

Bel Ami FOR MEN by Hermes – 3.4 oz EDT Spray– Masculinity and a definite 80s scent. If you like leather and woody perfumes, Bel Ami is probably one of the best you'll ever try. She's incredibly smooth and charming and attention-grabbing in a good way.

It opens with citrus and spices. It is carried away it comes out, but it really only adds to the feeling of richness, this time. Later, it will come out more and add a nice, overall aroma.

The citrus notes disappear after the first burst and their role seems to be overshadowed by the floral ingredients. Those just add a light glow to the resinous woods and herbal spices that sit under the skin.

Good strength and a unique fragrance, these days. I can't comment on how the original bottles smelled in the past, but the new bottles are very good.
