Frederic Malle perfumes are both niche and expensive. So beautiful is the way each one is designed by a particular perfumer, who gets credit on the bottle itself, in italics. In fact, there are many options in this line now, and most of them are unisex.

So, I wanted to make a list of the best ways for men to consider, and it will be composed of both unisex and other men's colognes.

Each of these, I think, brings something different to the table and is made by wonderful perfumers. Accordingly, there should be at least one option for everyone.

Favorite Frederic Malle Colognes for him

Top Overall Malle Fragrance

Frederic Malle – Bruno Jovanovic – Monsieur for men 1.7 ounce 50ml NIB 2015 year Not usually a big fan of patchouli, but I will admit when done right, it can be an amazing note. So it is with Monsieur.

This fragrance was created by Bruno Jovanovic using patchouli in combination with cedar wood and rum. Monsieur has a smoky quality and warmth, with just enough spice, and a slight citrus tone. Everything feels dry, bold, and comforting.

Monsieur is a great fragrance. The sillage is stable, but can be very strong when opening. It also has a really dark quality to it, sort of Black Man by Bvlgaribut it goes in a different direction from that cover.

The alcohol and soil combination is really great. What a wonderful fragrance.

Green/Herbal Fragrance

Frederic Malle French Lover Eau de Parfum 3.4 Oz/100 ml New in Box.– Woodsy, earthy, and incense aromas. The French lover is a unique experience, with such common points like vetiver and cedars.

In addition, unknown ingredients such as high angelica. This is a very green and earthy scent, with a hint of brown, and a drop of morning dew. You are mature and refined. As it dries down, French Lover shows more of its woody side, with less smoke provided by the incense.

It finishes as a dry green scent, and a dry burn with a cedar note head. It's not a unique scent, but it's familiar because of the choice of notes. Lots of depth and character.

It's a forest out there

Artificial Forest- Synthetic Jungle is another green scent. However, in this case it is a much more floral scent than French Lover.

Lily of the valley, jasmine, hyacinth, and ylang-ylang sit at the heart of this creation by Anne Flipo. Nice kick of basil on top, but it doesn't have that earthy feel. This is a fresh and fragrant flower.

Galbanum appears heavy in the mix in the opening stages, supported by basil. After that, it will progress to be more in the valley. A touch of jasmine and moments where the ylang-ylang really comes out.

Interesting, good depth and performance. Not my personal style, but this is a great unisex example of this type of floral fragrance.

Best seller is Malle

Musc Ravageur by Frederic Malle 100ml– Musc Ravageur is built for the coldest days of the year. A warm welcome of sweet notes and musk. Vanilla together tonka beans of course here, and a hint of cinnamon.

Fresh and sweet, but with a hint of musk infused throughout. Furthermore, there is the aforementioned cinnamon, amber, and cloves spice. Such a sweet and sensual fragrance.

There are many perfumes with many of the same notes, but the musk, and the composition, sets this one apart.

NOIR SPICES by FREDERIC MALLE 3.4oz/100ml– A sweet and spicy unisex fragrance with a juicy orange note that gives Noir Epices a citrus edge. Then, there is rose and geranium.

In addition, a plethora of different spices from pepper to cinnamon to cloves and more, creating a completely unique aroma. With all those spicy ingredients, it can certainly be loud, but for those who like this kind of thing, this fragrance offers a pleasant experience.

The orange note opens and is mixed with spicier notes, especially cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.

While it packs a punch at first, it's not a 'heavy' type of scent. In fact, it can be worn in warm weather and holds up well. The spice is clean and not overpowering.

Unique Vetiver

Frederic Malle 'Vetiver Extraordinaire 50ml/1.7 Fl Oz' It is dry, earthy, and heavily wooded. Vetiver, however, leads the way, and is combined with cedar and sandalwood. A smooth outer fragrance, capable of feeling very 'dirty', thanks to notes of orange and bergamot.

The citrus isn't very strong, but it's there and it's noticeably noticeable in the vetiver, and it competes with the pepper layer. Make the vetiver note stand out, brighter and more uplifting. The opening act has a spicy edge to it, but that smooths over time.

It's a vetiver scent, but not 'pure' vetiver and Extraordinaire, it gives you enough other notes to make it a unique choice. It works really well and can be worn in many different situations.
