Lacoste is a sports brand that has its roots in the world of tennis from its foundation. It is famous for its crocodile logo which is often emblazoned on polo shirts.

Today, I would like to take a closer look at their men's fragrance line and show you the best cologne for guys by Lacoste. Also see: The best Lacoste perfumes for women

What are the best perfumes for men by Lacoste?

Lacoste High Summer

Lacoste Essential Eau de Toilette for Men, 4.2 fl. oz.
A fresh and delicious fragrance that is a casual wear during the warmer months of the year. The essence is mixed with citrus and many woody/earthy notes to create an unforgettable fragrance for men.

The citrus notes are very prominent in the top, but your notes are very sharp. Bergamot and tangerine give it a bright personality.

As it moves forward, Lacoste Essential takes on a new, soapy scent. It shows notes of green leaves and a hint of peppery spice and patchouli. This is a simple dressing with a subtle citrus and an interesting tomato leaf.

Everything is well mixed, so it can be difficult to separate the notes at times. The forecast is good, but the smell is great. Spring and summer wear during days or work days. A critical review of Lacoste

New Lacoste in Cologne

L.12.12 White Water– While this has the name Blanc, Eau Fraiche is very different from the original. They share a grapefruit note, but this one also has lemon, ginger, apple, and lavender rounding things out.

It's a fresh citrus scent with added spice and dry woods in the base. It is much less floral than Blanc. This is a great under the radar scent for spring and summer..

The dry down is mostly made up of lingering citrus, cedar, vetiver, and a lingering juniper note. Oh and ambroxan, not too great for this build. Very effective in this type of grapefruit/lemon based cologne.

Fresh Citrus and Trees

Lacoste L'homme Intense Eau De Toilette, 3.3 oz Citrus and rhubarb open L'Homme Intense by Lacoste, kind of remind me Hugo Redbut this one is much nicer than Boss cologne.

I liked this one when I first tried it, but eventually it developed into a fragrance that I really enjoyed. Lacoste calls it a spicy scent, but to me, it's sweet/fresh/spicy. Ginger and black pepper come through immediately, but the spice is not very pronounced.

As it dries down, it becomes woody, but the orange and rhubarb add a unique vibe to this one. The performance is better than L'Homme Lacoste, but still not amazing, and the sillage is not very 'intense'. But for the surrounding wear in spring and summer Intense does very well.

Game point

Game tip EDT– This one has the same rhubarb as Intense (above), but has a more toned down note in this blend, with a hint of orange.

Although, it's not a complete citrus bomb either. Sweet at times, floral at others, balanced, and fresh.

Perfect for the warmer months of the year, Match Point EDT will be woody as you wear it. Just some ambroxan, but again nothing controlling. It's not as punchy as it is deep and leans sweet.

The sage and vetiver really keep this one feeling clean when combined with the floral notes in the heart.

The Best Winter Choice

Lacoste Pour Homme Eau de Toilette for Men, 3.3 fl. oz.
A wonderfully masculine blend of fruity and woody notes by Lacoste. It's a light fragrance that will work well for guys in the spring. Articles include: cinnamon, apple, juniper, rum, vanilla and plum.

Lacoste Pour Homme starts with a wonderful note of plum, combined with citrus and raw apple. The final notes are stronger, but complement the tartness of the plum very well.

It gets hot and delicious, with rum too vanillaslow down for a few minutes. No worries about the rum note, it's not strong enough to turn this into a boozy cologne.

The sillage is moderately light, making it safe for office wear, and it has a fresh profile. Plum and vanilla, with light spices, and a nice woody base.

The most unique scent

Lacoste Style in Play Eau de Toilette for Men, 2.5 fl. oz.
A light, long-lasting, refreshing fragrance that is a crowd pleaser. It is inviting and can strike a chord in a variety of situations. Articles include: patchouli, jasmine, green apple, cedar leaves, white musk, vetiver, and woods.

Playful Style changes things up, from the whole package, with its sweet scent combined with the same apple note to Lacoste Pour Homme. However, the apple is grown to give the Playstyle a balance of fruit from the green and fresh trees found in the heart.

Drying down, it becomes muskier, but the notes of pine and cedar remain clean and attractive. This is really a nice unique cologne, for a typical brand, but it will never be fancy.

The most famous Lacoste

Lacoste Eau De Lacoste Blanc For Men Eau De Toilette Spray, 3.3 Ounce
Blanc is not a strong scent by any means but one that has a great mystery and seductive allure to it. Blanc is a wonderful blend of citrus and woody notes, completely masculine.

The grapefruit note leads to the opening and it does so with a lot of energy. I love how beautiful and happy, wearing this, makes me feel. It is combined with a cedar/suede combination and a light floral scent, provided by tuberose and ylang-ylang.

Those flowers aren't too heavy, but it's nice to see them used in a men's fragrance.

I think this is my favorite cologne in L.12.12. fragrance line. It has a bright grapefruit note, enough sweetness, and earthy notes to give it a lot. It uses ylang-ylang and tuberose well, but retains its smooth masculine bonafides, and with leather and suede. Lacoste Blanc Review

Best Spicy/Herbal Fragrance

Lacoste Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Rouge Eau de Toilette for Men, 3.3 fl. oz.
Rouge is a really great men's cologne with a spicier profile than the other Lacoste perfumes in this range. It has notes that run the spectrum from citrus to woodsy to spicy. Not an oversight.

L.12.12. Rouge, opens with a very unusual use of fruity notes, combined with tea. Mango is a sweet note, combined with a syrupy orange liqueur, and a hint of herbal tea. This one feels clean and warm, the cardamom is very present at times, and the spiciness comes from the pepper and a hint of ginger.

My favorite part of this fragrance is the drydown. It's woody, earthy, and spicy. However, the fruit notes are around, but it all works much better.

I wish this one had more power, because it would be a great summertime outfit. Although, if you can get it cheap, Rouge is worth a try.

Interestingly, it uses mango and orange liqueur and tea. This creates a unique vibe with the opening of summer, before being combined with spicy pepper and cardamom. Articles include: Rooibos Tea, Mandarin Orange, Mango, Pepper, Cardamom, and Woodsy notes. Lacoste Rouge Full Review
